Transparent: Does That Mean Vulnerable?
Let’s face it! Most of us have learned that sharing information, stories, experiences, items, etc is an inseparable part of life; and yet, a responsibility comes with sharing and allowing others to know who we are individually and what we are manifesting. In fact, feeling good about ourselves and who we are is critical; and authentic, from-the-heart expression creates the opportunity, and implies the willingness, to be vulnerable; and such vulnerability surprisingly allows invulnerability — an essence available only by experiencing it.
The word transparency means “to allow the truth to be seen and known,” and because our awareness of truth changes as we grow, the opportunity to look more closely and access greater wisdom is accessed frequently. Just as we put together behaviors and beliefs early in life to navigate living, we have situations come up later that cause us to modify them for our own well-being.
Forgiveness (especially of ourselves) is a response to troublesome events that allows openness for fresh thinking and learning; and examining these occurrences in order to make different choices in the future takes courage. Through it all though, it is the sharing of new realizations in the process of learning that energizes and connects human beings who may otherwise experience false separation; and such unifying activities usually benefit everyone.
Allowing learning from each other is a key component of both transparency and authenticity. They engender both self-trust and self-acceptance, and offer an ease in living that extends a number of benefits; and it is this ease that takes the place of — dis-ease, and promotes health and enjoyment instead.
Being at ease is important and helpful especially being at ease with one’s self; and genuinely knowing and loving one’s self allows both authenticity and transparency. In answer to the question, does transparent mean vulnerable? — the answer is yes and no. Being vulnerable is an aspect of being transparent, and yet, in the uniqueness of authentic vulnerablily, you are invulnerable.
